The metropolis Barcelona is exciting. The Rambla, the beautiful market La Boqueria, the Cathedral, Gaudi's distinctive masterpieces, the museums, Montjuic and the Olympic city, etc.

If possible combine the stay in Platja d'Aro with an overnight stay in Barcelona - there is a lot to be seen.

For football fans, a home match at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium is an obvious opportunity. A guided tour is also an experience for both young and old. See the luxurious changing rooms, VIP rooms, press room, tv studio, etc.

If there is more interest in theater and music, the famous opera Liceu is perhaps an idea.

Distance from Platja d'Aro approx. 100 km. There are nice direct bus links from Platja d'Aro directly to the center of Barcelona. When in Barcelona, the metro is a good way to get around.

It is also relatively easy to drive a car in Barcelona, especially if you have a navigator, but it is expensive to park.

Girona is the capital of the region and has one of the best preserved medieval quarters in Catalonia.

It is very cozy in the narrow streets and on the mini-rambla by the river. See also the cathedral and the Arab baths, etc.

Girona is just half an hour's drive from Platja d'Aro.

Tossa de Mar
Tossa de Mar is one of the most famous cities on the Costa Brave and is located on the more mountainous part of the coast.

There is an old medieval castle with a beautiful view of the city and the beach and a small well-preserved medieval quarter.

Take the boat from Platja d'Aro - the sailing trip is an experience in itself.
